Aquarius NBC recap & review S2.E5. Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey
This was a rough week for Cherry Pie. This was a rough week for everyone.
While watching Tex finish off stabbing a body of a woman in the yard, Emma is ordered to take out whoever is left in the guest house. What happened to Tex? The other pretty boy in the guest house has just turned up the music on the radio to block out the screaming coming from outside. He deserves to get slashed for his apathy. Throughout the episode, Emma almost breaks free from the madness with Dennis Wilson, but Charlie still has his clutches on her tight as he demonstrates his musical improvisation talent by singing a precursor to Pheobe’s “Smelly Cats” (NBC Friends).
Charmain might be the one glimmer of hope. While everyone else starts shining and ending up in a hole, Officer Tully goes from making coffee for Cutler to being recruited to go undercover with the “Criminal Conspiracy.” The task force believes a female cop would be their best shot at infiltrating the SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) -Chamain says she doesn’t want to be a female cop “I just want to be a cop.” Beware of hippies with dynamite. I fear the penthouse vandalism is just scratching the surface with this assignment.
Shafe is the big hero at the station. After getting hazed with a shave and haircut from Cutler and Hodiak, Detective Shafe goes to work on a murder case. His partner hops from Hodiak to Cutler before determining the crazy girlfriend / second wife did not kill the victim. But all those pats on the back form Cutler could not help Brian’s domestic conflicts and new drug addiction issues.
Hodiak can’t seem to catch a break. Walt is in big trouble, Opal is frantic and IA is back on his heals. After Sam blows off a phone call from Opal, we later learn that she has taken her own life by washing down a bottle of pills with vodka. Unaware of the affair between Cutler and Opal, Shafe receives a phone call and delivers the news of Opals suicide to Culter at the bar. Not sure how Hodiak got through this episode without punching someone. Someone is showing personal growth. The heart crashes hard watching Sam makes the decision not to tell Walt about his Mothers death.
What do you think is the fate of the pretty boy in the guest house?
